A 13-year-old abandoned miniature cat was fortunately saved from euthanasia and found a new home in a “retirement” shelter

This is TimTams, a 13-year-old cat, the size of a four-month-old kitten and weighing only 1.8 kg. Once she ended up in a Virginia shelter and spent much more than the allotted time there, no one wanted to take her because of her abnormal diminutiveness and very modest nature.

TimTams was running out of time. A little more and the cat could be euthanized. But Karin Poplin, who founded a shelter for elderly cats in Texas, found out about TimTams, and the fate of a small and useless cat made her very sad. Karin came specially for TimTams from out of state and took her to her place to give her a decent old age “in retirement.”

So TimTams settled in the Kitty Adventure Rescue League and Sanctuary run by Karin and her husband Gerald. In their shelter, older cats live out their lives, as well as cats with disabilities and cats with diseases that require special care.

TimTams has remained a quiet and shy cat, but now she has a permanent owner and she gradually thawed out and began to show feelings of affection for him.

Most of the time they sleep quietly on their couch, and when they walk, they do it as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. But when she sees her new owners, she rejoices and wants affection. She likes to poke her head on a person’s hand and be stroked.

Don’t be afraid to adopt older cats from a shelter. They will give you no less love and will be very attached to you.
