The beginning of the story of Liam the cat from Subotica was a sad one, but despite his age, he continues to shine today

Liam’s story is sad and mostly like the stories of all street cats. He was born on the street in 2016 as an unwanted kitten of an unwanted mother, he managed to survive long enough to start feeding himself and realized that by cuddling he could provide himself with at least a few meals and a portion of pampering.

He was lucky enough to settle in front of a boutique where, miraculously, he was not forced out. Sometimes they let him in to warm up, he got meals and at least he wasn’t beaten and mistreated. However, as street cats’ luck is usually very short-lived, Liam’s world was turned upside down when the boutique was moved to another location, and he was left alone.

He sat in front of his former refuge and expected food, a hug, and sometimes to be allowed to warm up, but, to his great surprise, they pushed him and shouted at him, and his stomach was empty more and more often. He had to get out of there, but he had nowhere to go.

From the Cat shelter Felix, they saw his story and it was clear to them that no one would take him if they didn’t do it, so he was brought to Belgrade, to the empty apartment of one of the shelter employees, he stayed there until she came to pick him up and after a journey of 200 km, they arrived at the asylum.

Liam is neutered, vet checked, FIV and FeLV negative, and completely healthy; he only goes outside when the weather is nice, and he likes to rest on warm radiators the most. He got a chance to make up for everything he missed so far.

He didn’t even look like the cat he is now, but since we all like happy endings and happy kitties, he’s a true indicator of what a safe meal, peace, and life in the air means to a cat. Now he has already put on his winter fur and is shining.
