A Female Cat Was Found Duct-Taped From Head To Paws, Helped, And Turned Sweet

A female cat was found duct-taped from head to paws and left abandoned in a Philadelphia yard on Tuesday. Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) workers fondly named her "Sticky."

Sticky was unable to move because of the duct tape that had been wrapped around her so tightly.

Fortunately, Sticky, who was abandoned after being wrapped in duct tape, was rescued by officers from the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Humane Law Enforcement team.

Medical staff at the Pennsylvania SPCA were able to remove the duct tape without much damage to Sticky's fur. According to Angela Messer, the shelter nurse supervisor at PSPCA, Sticky does not appear to have any lasting physical or mental trauma from the experience.

Pennsylvania SPCA staff nicknamed the female cat Sticky, and she is reportedly doing well. Angela Messer of the PSPCA said Sticky is a "sweet cat" who "enjoys being cuddled or playing with toys."

"I've been doing this for a lot of years and I have to say that this is the worst case," George Bengal of the PSPCA told CBS affiliate KYW Philadelphia. "I've seen animals' feet duct-taped and their mouths duct-taped, but never a body suit like this."

Sticky is not yet up for adoption, but applications, available on the PSPCA Web site, are being accepted. Make sure you note on the application you would like to adopt Sticky. So far, authorities say, Sticky has shown no signs of aggression and she will be spayed before adoption.

George Bengal, the PSPCA Law Enforcement Director, places Sticky's duct tape suit into an evidence bag. Sticky was found tightly bound with duct tape from head to toe on Tuesday.

Philadelphia police are searching for the person responsible for wrapping Sticky in duct tape and abandoning her in a yard.

The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering a reward to anyone who provides information leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for wrapping Sticky in duct tape and abandoning her.
